This 1-hour workshop does not teach maths, it instead focuses on attitudes and looks at tips and resources to kick-start your confidence with numbers.
The session uses a model of Value, Belief and Persistence to introduce a more positive approach to improving numeracy skills as an adult. It looks at common mindsets about maths and explores maths anxiety, including how to overcome it. It also talks about the Essentials of Numeracy, which are the skills and confidence that everyone needs to use numbers to make good decisions at work and at home. The session finishes by introducing the National Numeracy Challenge. Our free online learning tool designed for adults to improve their everyday maths skills whilst building their number confidence.
